ROBERT CASH
After a successful Chicago show at Studio 207 the work of Robert Cash is hosted at the Glamor Is Undead Gallery. Cash will present paintings and drawings. His recent paintings can be read as palimpsests where different layers are scraped off, repainted and furnished with resurfacing templates. This work has the art of painting as its main focal point; the texture of the linen, the scraped paint, the stitches that keep the several parts of the painting together. Cash’s drawings invariably show his reflective side as an artist. On his personalized stationery with his own image as watermark these clear drawings seem like diary fragments in which Cash reflects on interconnectivity and his place or position in the world he lives in.
Just as we did with our previous artist Jamez Dabramski Dean we have asked Robert Cash to transform our white space into an environment where he and his work feel at home.
